The basement bathroom. Plumber came today to put in the drains which required jackhammering the cement floor. DH did all the prep work taking out the cement and digging down. The plumber put in drains and we will replace the floor. In essence, we are starting from scratch.
The plumber was telling us about a new product he picked up Menards. Our plan was to mix the cement outside and carrying it inside in buckets. The new product is a heavy duty plastic bag. Pour in the cement mix and water, squish bag around for 60-90 seconds and pour into the hole. Plumber thought he'd give it a try since it was only $7 and used one bag to mix up 7, 60 pound bags of cement (on another job) and was very pleased with the results and much less work and mess. That's the way we are going to go.
This is the first step. Once DH finishes framing out the room, the plumber will be back to put in the water supply lines. Thank goodness for a good friend who is a plumber!

yay, its on its way! that bag thing sounds cool, way better than carrying buckets of cement in!
Oh wow. Is Menards the name of the product?

Mixing bag- kind of like 'shake 'n' bake. Great idea.
Around here Menards is a store like Home Depot and Lowes so it may be where he bought it, not the name of the product.
I get tired just reading about all the home renovations you've tackled this year. Once they are finished will you be able to relax a bit or will another project come along? It sounds like you are both go, go, go type people who need to keep busy.
Let us know about that cement mix if you use it. Interesting
