I've read all of the books. The third book (upon which seasons 3 and 4 of the TV show are based) is probably my favorite book.
I really like Oberyn's character, but he let his arrogance get the best of him.
My favorite characters are the schemers: Tyrion, Varys and Littlefinger.
The next tier includes Arya Stark, Sir Davos, Jamie Lannister and the Hound.

I read the books a really really long time ago then I waited forever for the last book to come out. I agree he is going to run out of material soon but he's not exactly a fast writer.
It's been so long since I read those books a lot of these moments like the Oberyn and the Mountain scene I completely forgot about.

I liked the way she handled it, made her seem more of a BAMF! Even though he did help her, he was on her list anyways and want to kill him.

BAMF=bad ass motherfu**er.
I don't think he deserved mercy. His first instinct was to kill first ask questions later, and he showed indifference to other suffering, therefore he should suffer a painful death.
Well, technically we don't see the Hound die in the show or in the books, so theoretically he could still be alive by some miracle.
