I think he killed Shay because she testified against him in court then slept with his father. and she knew how much he hated his father. Also Since he loved her a lot and he thought that she loved him it was the ultimate betrayal in his eyes.

I was surprised Tyrion killed Shay. I know she betrayed him, but he did love her. Not surprised he killed his father.

Actually in the books his first wife wasn't a prostitute. Jamie confess that to him when he released him, but for some reason they cut that part out in the show.
And I agree that he will regret killing Shay, but I can see his rational behind it.
its a fun series to watch. I like the little stark girl and tyrion. I guess I root for underdogs/or maybe smart people with common sense
I read the books and am impressed with how the series brings them to life...for some...lol
