Went to town with the weed whacker.

I'm trying to expand the usable area of our property so I bought what was advertised as a commercial grade weed whacker. Tried it a couple of times and really liked it but it was too hot to do a lot. Today was beautiful and I really went to town. Blew through an entire tank of gas.

Now I can't move my arms. How long does that last?

It's better now. I showed my husband that they were shaking whenever I tried to pick something up or tensed my muscles and he said, "Didn't you read the manual?" No. No, I didn't. Too much vibration for too long. Oh well. There's some exercise I'm supposed to do for weed whacker arm. I'll read that later.

Exactly who I don't like the weed whacker DH bought. It's electric but still heavy plus dragging around a cord. Got a cordless from Menards, Earth something. It's certainly not as powerful as the other but much easier on the arms. The yard can be done on one charge.

Yesterday sanded down the garden bench to refinish using an orbital sander. By the time I finished my fingers were shot.

Hope you arms feel better soon. I am wondering if they will be really stiff tomorrow.

That usually happens to me when I use the weed whacker for too long. The worst thing you can do is stop using your arms completely - they'll feel even worse in the morning or later that day. If you can, try to move your arms (slowly and gently, of course) to keep the blood flowing. Advil and other pain relievers are also great to use

I'm still kind of feeling it. It's so weird. I'm right handed but it's my left arm that's still giving me problems. I'll keep your advice in mind for the next round.
