    Pie transport issue.

I cannot for the life of me find pie boxes sold locally. There's a bake sale on Saturday and I have no idea of how to transport my pies. I've read about putting another pie tin over it and wrapping it in plastic wrap or tinfoil or using a paper plate and doing the same but you can't see the pie! Who's going to buy that pie?

I have enormous pink cake boxes and have considered cutting a large hole in a paper plate over the top then wrapping it in plastic wrap. Which would be better? Or other ideas. It never occurred to me that I couldn't get pie boxes.

I have stuck toothpicks into the top to tent the plastic wrap over and then a little tape to stick the plastic to the bottom to hold the plastic in place.

Could you buy the clear plastic, clamshell cases from a local supermarket bakery?

Ideally, I'd like to stack them, otherwise I'm limited on number I can bring in. Maybe the cake boxes. I just wish that pies were square!

I haven't been able to find lids for my disposable pie tins. I think it's because the pie shell overflows onto the lip.

I knew I should have ordered the boxes online two weeks ago. I just wasn't thinking.

    Well, it won't help you here, but...wait for it...Pi R 2. (OK...the 2 should be higher)

I had a chemistry teacher who'd giggle all over herself when she referred to Pi are round instead of Pi=r2.

Pizza boxes? I'm the family pie person but I've never taken more than two to any one function and I have two pie containers.

Huh! I googled and, unbelievably in this age of Google and Ye Shall Find, there does not seem to be such a thing as a multi-pie storage container.

If I lived closer my plan would be. I buy them, eat them at your house, transport them in my belly.

hmmm, do you have a local grocery-supply place? the kind of place that wholesales packaging to grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, etc? they would likely have something... I found ours (for containers for the catering on the flights) by searching "restaurant supply". only issue is, you normally have to buy a large number....
another thought, do any of your local grocery stores bake in-house? they will have the pie boxes... if you explained about the good cause, they may sell you some
