My garden looks beautiful but my allergies . . .

not so good. I'm just tired all of the time.

Has anyone heard of that allergy medication which is supposed to take care of allergies permanently? It just passed the FDA, I think. Can't remember the name but I'd like to keep up with the progress.

Sorry don't know anything that will make allergies go away permanent. I just use a generic brand from Walgreens, does the same thing as the name brands do. With rabbits, you have hay. lol

It really stinks for you. Lovely garden and you can't enjoy it. Hoping you find something that will help. Lots of people now a days having problems with allergies that never did before.

I take an over the counter sleeping pill sometimes. Active ingredient is Diphenhydramine. It's an antithistamine and is the main ingredient in Benadryl and some other allergy treatments. Possible that is the reason you are tired?

LOL, my Sis is opposite to you. She took the sleeping pill regularly, but at night of course, and noticed her mild allergies disappeared.

I don't know about anything permanent but would love to have that myself.
Have you tried raw, local honey? It takes a few weeks to kick in but it may be worth it so you can enjoy your garden.

Been on allergy pills since March -- not sure they have kicked in. Last weekend was THE WORST. I feel your pain. Hopefully you can see much of it through your windows.

Not all allergy pills work for everyone. I take Zyrtek. Allegra only helps my scratchy throat not my itchy eyes, which are the worst for me. Claratin doesn't work at all for me, but it used to. So if you've been taking something since March, you may need to change. My doctor also told me that the brand name in the OTC allergy medications are better. I have noticed that Zyrtek works a bit better than the off brand. I supplement with eye drops and nose spray when it gets really bad.

Good luck to all my fellow allergy sufferers!

I never thought I had any allergies until we moved here--eastern WA, desert type country. We have lots of sagebrush & cheatgrass around, but I think what really gets to me is our neighbors have a Russian Olive tree, & I've heard those can be awful for people with allergies. For the past 2 weeks, I've been taking Claritan every day, too. Sneezing, extremely itchy eyes & a stinging sore throat. Sometimes I use Similisan eye drops. When this first started, my eyes itched so bad I just wanted to scratch them hard! I used the eye drops, & it hurt so bad, it felt like I had rocks in my eyes. I had to lay down with a cold wet washcloth on my eyes for awhile. I started with the Claritan then, & it seems to be helping. I drink tea in the evening with honey & lemon to soothe my sore throat. I have Benadryl & have been tempted to take it, but haven't because I take the Claritan in the morning, at night I take a tiny amount of an anti-anxiety med, & I'm not sure I should add the Benadryl into that. I sure hope this get done with soon--I'd like to enjoy the summer.....

I wonder if the news report I saw confused the permanent cure with this.

I may try this. Part of the problem is the hay field out back. The lilac in other people's yard is done for the year but I'll finally be driven indoors when the peonies bloom. I love them but that's when I put in the AC unit and turn on the air purifiers. Curiously, our Fran is doing better than I am this year. I think our holistic vet did a great job in adjusting her supplements this year.
