    it's me

hi guys-just wanted to check in and update . I'm still going to the gym/pt 6 days a week, 3 hours a day (half hour for hand), working like an animal. both calves are almost the same size, I'm told I'm getting better tho hard for me to see it. i see the docs in less than 2weeks so we shall see what they say. pain doc added neurontin (used primarily for other stuff like seizures, bi polar, etc ) -used for nerve pain. worked for about 2 weeks and then, nada. I'm on 900 mgs which sounds like a lot, but it can go up to thousands so i guess this is still considered a small dose.
actually had my nails and toes done today, wore slip on sneakers (cut below the plate so i can actually get into them without howling) and had lunch with my friend patty.
    an excursion for me.
nick is better, much better except i think i am causing him anxiety. actually i know i am. now he's taking a bit of xanex too. i feel so bad that i did that but i didnt mean to. he is starting to work, like a day a week and that day he is a nervous wreck leaving me. truth is, after the gym, when he's working, i come home, and lay around, watch t-v, read the paper. and when he's home , sometimes we go food shopping , or for a ride, see the grands on sunday. boring existence and seems like i have a long way to go. tho, i am trying to think about how far i've come. the head PT guy says i am an inspiration. i look at him with emoji eyes but i get it. came in with a wheelchair , then a walker, then a cane. and now i just limp in. some days worse that others. and i am the human barometer. two days before rain, my ankle tells me so.

anyway, a new friend from another board, i believe joined us. her name is pipers mom. nice lady. just wanted to let you guys know.

I'm actually gonna stay now and read some posts, try and be my old witty self (even tho i don't feel it I'm trying) and catch up with stuff. i see lots of new folks i don't know which actually makes me feel bad. but , in time, as i feel better, i will know you all.

    tell me something good. news?

Betty, so good to see you back. You've had an incredibly rough run. I'm so proud of you for working so hard. Believe me, I know a little of what you have been going through. Just being stuck in the house for weeks on end takes it toll. I also see in DH's eyes a little of what Nick is going through too leaving you alone.

Went to PT without my cane Thursday and therapist took that as a sign to really put me through the paces. Today I ventured to the basement; going down was not difficult at all, coming back up, well lets just say I took my time.

Good to hear from you Betty. I'm glad things are improving for you. I don't have much in the way of good news. I'm turning 60 on Monday.

Thanks for the warmth and love I feel from you guys!
barry, always one of the first to respond to my long lost post.andrew, so glad your girl Stella healed from her dental work. Always supportive and uplifting and I love you for it, as well as your talents and brain. I love when you talk about Faye because I can tell what kind of person, man, husband and friend you are.ooops, I left out your photos too. Probably left out more but my brain is clogged lately, which isn't fun but I hope clears up as I heal more and wean off everything.
fran- I feel like a turd, not writing to see how YOU are. Forgive me my friend but as you know I haven't been around much and honestly, I'm a buzz kill. But I understand your PT, because that place is my second home and I see, and hear folks receiving their treatment.( I think knee replacements are pretty wretched so don't have them, please). I've made many new " friends", holding their hands to comfort them while being treated. The orchid you sent me, in full bloom again and again, reminds me of you, daily. But I should have tried to be a better friend and come on to see how you are.
sandra, I hope you have a Happy Birthday! And have a slice for me.
janedoe- I miss your stories about your beautiful property and crazyish neighbor's..
ok, I'm feeling my brain working, thank god.
im happy for this board, who almost always is civil, even if we don't vote for the same candidate.
someone would think I'm a grinning idiot from all my " happiness" while in reality, I'm struggling but not "depressed" just pretty much miserable most of the time due to pain.boy, I'm really sick of the pain and so tired of complaining about it.
i almost feel like a pill, no pun intended.
but my friends, I do so appreciate all of you on this board.
i always say I'll try and stick around, and then don't.please forgive me for that and I will try.try.
thanks guys, for caring, even when I'm not around.

I left out that Jake turned 13, pretty sure has LP ( GOLPP ) but is doing better in the cooler weather. The other day, while struggling to get out of bed, I nearly tripped, grabbed on to jake's neck and my old boy, stood like a statue, and held me up.considering his rear is not great, my boy held me up and 'saved' me.
vangie turned 7 ( ok, now I'm not sure if it's 6 or 7. How pathetic) and Eli is a royal PITA. He and vangie wrestle, furniture in the living room is moved all over the place and I expect my mother's baby grand to end up in my neighbor's house. He's very cute, resembles a gargoyle, but boy oh boy, stubborn as can be and when he gives you 'the look' it's one that says dirty words. You know what I mean.
nick, still on disability, but slowly going in to work, tho I think I've made him anxious about leaving me alone.hopefully, he will eventually be able to work full time and get off disability.
cant remember if I left anything out but I'm going to try and stick around and not be sappy.

Great to see you back Betty, and that things seem to be going a little better for you and yours, apart from cheeky Eli alias the gargoyle! (That made me smile, thanks) You saw my good news re Till. Take care, Kim &Tilly

so glad to see your brain working! just kidding, it never stopped, just overwhelmed with other stuff (like pain, it;ll do that to ya!) what a good boy your Jake is, of course you already knew that. hang in, you are doing incredible, i know it doesn't feel it, but wow!
hmm, good news...i suppose if you were a kid, tonight would be magical - its snowing the 1st snow of the year, biiiiigggg fluffy flakes that are sticking to all the trees and bushes, we've gotten about 1.5" in the last 45 minutes, and i will say, its really pretty and bright out there!
