Heebie Jeebies here! Rats are awful. I don't mind shrews and mice as much-since we live in kind of a wooded area I have to expect the critters but I don't love them and this is why we will always have at least two cats. Of the two we have now, only Henry hunts but he is only one so all he has gotten are mice, shrew and birds. Our last girl was fat as **** but she caught rats and rabbits. I was sad about the bunnies...

The dogs alerted this morning and my husband went into the basement to find a newly killed pregnant rat in a trap. We were just about to relax when he checked an hour later. He came back up and said, "I have good news and I have bad news." The good news was that we had caught another rat. The bad news was that we had another rat. The trap had been dragged off so my husband tracked it down and had to shoot it.

Two things were said at this point. The first was that he now has a boatload of husband credit. This means that, at any point during an argument, all he has to say is, "I killed the rats" and he wins the argument. The second was that he now wanted to be known as the Rat B*****d Executioner. Which is good because I didn't know what to get him for Christmas.

My house now reeks like someone set a candy cane factory on fire.

I'm thinking of stealing all of his dress shirts and having them embroidered "RB Ex".
