    Tea Kettle Recommendation

DD news a new tea kettle. Of course, Amazon has a gazillion. It's so hard to pick. I have a black kettle and love it but DD needs the stainless steel look in her kitchen. After reading a multitude of reviews, it seems that a lot of them rust on the inside.

What do you have and what features do you like in a kettle?

Are you looking at electric or stove top? I have a Kitchen Aid stove top one in black but Kitchen Aid makes ones in many different colors. So far no rust in it, we've had it for about two years and use it occasionally. It got the most use the first year we had it but I've been drinking more coffee than tea lately.

I remember reading about them rusting it when first researching them. I picked the one I have because the price was right. Other than that I was just looking for a traditional round design.

I've had a Hamilton Beach stainless steel electric kettle for several years now and it hasn't rusted. It sits on a base that plugs in so you don't worry about the cord when filling or pouring. it also heats extremely fast.

A good quality stainless steel kettle will not rust. I have two, mine and my Mum's old one, neither is rusty. It used to be you'd look for manufacture in a first world country but these days manufacturers import so much of their materials I guess that might not be a guarantee of good steel. Mine are both the stove type, nothing more than fancy shaped pots with over the top handles. I got so tired of electric kettles dying two months after the warranty ran out.

I've had a stainless steel one for years and years and I love it. It still looks brand new inside and out. Mine has a lid, which I wanted, so I could clean out the inside. Every so often I put some apple cider vinegar and water in it and boil it to keep it sparkling clean inside. I've never had a problem with rust or anything.

I think mine is either KitchenAid or Cuisinart. I got it at TJ Maxx.

A friend has a Rachael Ray one and loves it. I have an instant hot water/boiling water thing for my sink so no kettles here.

offtopic: so jealous about the instant hot water spout! When we built our house 3 years ago, we asked about getting one but the builder and plumber had no idea what we were talking about and we dropped it. I wish we had pursued it.
