You are all the best. A quick update - I am having a lumpectomy on Tuesday June 24th. Don't have to stay in the hospital - woo hoo. The meeting with the breast surgeon went well. Still very scared this has moved into the lymph nodes so please send that labby mojo that it has not. I am doing fine during the day - not so fine at night. One day at a time, right?

    Thanks,
    Nancy

Thanks for the update; guess we all should live one day at a time and be grateful for what we have. I realized that almost twenty years ago when I was diagnosed with MS, chronic progressive - still alive and kicking, pretty active, but don't take anything for granted anymore. My pups are a real blessing and I'm sure that it all would've been different without them. Fingers crossed for you. M&M

Glad everything is set. Sending tons of prayers and mojo that it is contained. Also sending prayers and mojo for a simple surgery and fast recovery.

Thanks for the update Nancy. Good thoughts and prayers are being sent your way for a successful surgery on the 24th. I sympathize with you about your night time troubles. I also have a hard time sleeping. My doctor told me to try Melatonin. It has worked wonders for me. You can get it over the counter in the vitamin section at the drug store. I take one 3 mg tablet an hour before bedtime. Most nights I sleep like a rock with the one tablet. However, the doctor said if it isn't helping after two weeks, I could take two tablets (6 mg), going up to three tablets (9 mg) if I need to after another two weeks. I didn't want to take any more drugs than I already do, so that's why the doctor suggested Melatonin. It might be worth giving it a try.

    Hi Georgia,

I tried Melatonin last night as a matter of fact. Unfortunately, it didn't help me. Maybe you have to give it two weeks? I don't know. I picked up some over the counter generic sleep-aid today, but upon reading it I see it has the same ingredient as benedryl which I know makes some sleepy, but not me. I will try it anyway tonight. Thanks for the info. The sleep deprivation is making me nuts. I have to say when I take xanax it does knock me out and I feel so much better the next day because I got some sleep, but I really don't want to keep taking that stuff.

Nancy, do what you need to do to help. If it's taking Xanax for a limited period of time, do it! You need to sleep and relax to help your body heal and mend.

Prayers for your lumpectomy on Tuesday and good results - thinking of you often!

As someone said earlier, take care of YOU. If that means tanking a Xanax to sleep, so be it. Try just half and see if that will knock ya out. No sleep will make ya crazy.

Good news that the nasty is coming out on the 24th! and more mojo thoughts and prayers that its not in the lymph nodes or anywhere else. Do what you need to do to get sleep, your mind and your body need it.
