I am so sorry you are going through this. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I hope you are doing well. Glad you are done with chemo - my biggest fear. Were you ER+/PR+ or HER2+ or?????

Sounds like you kicked cancer's butt!!!!! Good for you.

Hi Everyone, thanks for checking in on me. I had my lumpectomy yesterday. It went ok. Didn't feel so good afterward, but they gave me a pain pill on an empty stomach and I'm sure it didn't sit well.

Today I feel fine. A little sore as I was told they had to cut into the muscle to get the tumor out - hope that's not a bad thing. They gave me pain meds, but I don't feel I really need them and they put me in a trance anyway LOL. I am taking tylenol instead and that works - not completely, but enough. I only feel pain when I reach for something.

They only removed one lymph node. Don't know if that means anything or not. I won't find out until next week. More waiting YAY - NOT!!!

I have to say my son has really been a gem. He's just completely stepped up to the plate (hubby is on a trip with my daughter that was planned months ago) for me. He's been walking dumb and dumber (and they can be annoying on walks) and hasn't complained once. So proud of that kid.

Please continue with that labby mojo that they will not find any cancer cells in the lymph nodes. Still very scared about that.

    Nancy

So glad you are up and around. Know what it feels to have a pain med on an empty stomach, not good. It's good you can get reasonable comfort with Tylenol. You might find that you need the pain med at night. You might feel more sore in the next day or two. Sometimes the doctor will inject a long lasting numbing agent at the time of surgery. Don't forget to wear a supportive bra, even at night.

KUDOS to your son! It's surprising how well they do when the need arises.

Sorry about the wait, that's the hard part.

    Sending more healing prayers.

I am so glad to see your update. Ibuprofen might help a bit more with the soreness, if you can take it. I am so glad your son has been so helpful and supportive, it is probably very helpful to him in dealing with his own feelings about this. Prayers and good thoughts continue for you. Hang in there. ((((hugs))))
