    Wow, fantastic trip. The whole south west is an area i'd love to explore... have yet to make it down that way, your pictures provide more incentive!

    It's a fascinating part of the world. I've had the good fortune to visit central and northern New Mexico, which is extraordinarily rich in scenery and history. Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos, Los Alamos, the pueblos, Bandelier National Historic Site. I want to return to Fort Davis Texas, which grew around a US Army cavalry fort first established in the 1850s and is now perhaps the best-preserved example of such a fort. They do living history demonstrations, and there's good hiking. McDonald Observatory is near Fort Davis. It offers Star Parties and some unique events.
