Rye, that's another one. Good on the owner!

You Canadians add so much humor and interesting subjects to the board, as do others from 'foreign country members'. So very enlightening to view other peoples languages and thoughts compared to us 'Americans'.

    I love it!!!

You know I think most of these words all come to American as well, however they are more localized. For Example being in Michigan, I know a lot of these words and know they are Canadian, however Some of them I knew but associated them with Noth Dakota slang, or Minnesota.

There were a few I never heard of, but most of those had to do with Hockey, I am not a Hockey fan.

Poutine, I know it well, there are several restaurants here that have it. Especially some of the breweries as they make the brown gravy with brown ales.

What about Bloody Caesar? I have tried to order that drink in the US and the bartenders have no idea what I mean.

A friend of mine swears the best Caesar she ever had was in LA. The bartender had no idea what it was but was game to try (he raised an eyebrow at the clam broth). She described the ingredients & approximate portions and he made it. Delivered it himself and waited to see how it was. Now that's professionalism!

I was once at a shopping mall just south of the border and asked a security guard for directions to a particular store. He used slang and I hadn't a clue what he meant. He saw my puzzled face and helpfully led me in the right direction until he could point it out directly. You'd think with movies and TV we speak a common language...

ok - washroom is SLANG? LOL!

I don't know pogey, chesterfield, turked out or parkade though. Might be regional/generational?

    That's a new one.

These might be regional. Crop tour and its close cousin, gravel run.

I found it weird in Vegas that you could find Clamato juice at the Walgreens but we couldn't find a bar that made a Caesar. Bloody Mary's only and they are terrible. I like to start the day with a Caesar or even do a half beer half Caesar to get the cobwebs out.
    Thanks Everyone!!
