    Canadian slang.

From Macleans magazine: Canadian words, phrases, and slang most Americans wouldn't understand.

These are only a few of the sayings I had to learn when I moved to Canada.

That's how I always thought it was spelled and not pogey as in the link. We Canadians were brought up to spell our slang correctly, please and thank you.

I always spelled it Pogey. An older guy at work uses the word Dole all the time. I tell him the word "dates" himself.

We were visiting a friend in New York state once and ordered Rye and Cokes. The bartender was confused. The owner came over and told us he loved Canadians and gave us a drink on the house.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Poutine. We would serve that with chicken fried steak and call it heart attack on a plate.
