Oh, just wait till the first pip, and then the first hatch. The rate of growth of the chicks is just unbelievable. You can see a difference in the size overnight. Watching the parents teach the hatchlings the skills they will need to be on their own is fascinating. And when they finally fledge, you will hold your breath that they can return unharmed. I am in love with the Decorah eagles, and now a mating pair 15 minutes away from me has just laid their first egg. I may have to make a visit soon, although the view online is better than in person.

Just checked in. Hanover next has two eggs. Berry College chicks are getting so big. Mom/Dad covering up eggs or chicks, cannot see a thing.

I hadn't checked the nests for a while because, you know, life. The baby owls have gotten so big! They don't really fit underneath Mama any more but they're all huddled close. They said the Hanover eagle was attacked during the night, possibly by a Great Horned Owl, but I think that's a guess. They appear to be OK today, though. I guess it's getting close to the time for those eggs to hatch, also. Now I have to go check the Berry College guys.

Hanover camera seems to be out. Hope nothing bad happened. Decorah is nesting; has build a little nest within the next. Berry College eaglets are huge. It happened so fast.
