    Painful Valentine's Day.

We made reservations for 5 pm. When we came in the parking lot was full and we were ten minutes late. The hostess said that she was just about to call us to find out if we were coming in because there were so many reservations.

But we're in record breaking cold and the black ice was supposed to hit around 7 pm. We ate and as time went on, the restaurant just emptied out. It was terrible. Our server was cringing. The busiest night of the year and everyone bailed.

I went out Saturday in the -40 to buy get a card, stop at the Home Depot and buy a case of beer. It was like living in Edmonton or something with all of the cars running in the parking lot. It was the perfect time to go to the beer store though, not a soul buying beer in that weather.

We stayed in last night as well because of the weather.
    Thanks Everyone!!

    Hate ice storms!

We had a couple inches of snow coming down hard and fast. Fortunately, it eased up to flurries and the plows were able to keep up. Roads are clear this morning and temp has finally passed 20 degrees.

Oh boy. It was 79 degrees in Napa. What to say? I cannot imagine living in cold like that!!

The funky thing is that the temperature fluctuations are so great that we're getting snow then a layer of ice then snow then the snow melts then freezes and makes it more ice. Just bizarre. The snow throwers are having a very hard time right now.
