    Yes, we were thinking that we'd wait until our house is paid off (we are trying to pay it off a bit early), before looking for something else... but then we found this. It's in (well, on the edges of) a small beach town that has always had a tourist flow (and is absolutely jammed during the 4th of July and Kite Festival), but over the past years it seems it's getting more popular, a bit hipper, even international tourists (!) in the Fall.

    I've also seen more people coming in and buying vacation homes—some really beautiful ones on the water. And there are a couple new gated communities being developed. When that starts happening, prices go up, and they can go up rapidly. And since we weren't really planning on a place yet, we knew that prices could go up so rapidly that anything would be out of our reach.

    So went for it. Still seems unreal, to be honest.

    It was grey and rainy when we found it, and had been on the market for 100 days. I don't think it would have lasted long once spring hits here.
