Exciting Development (mainly not Lab related... but a little)

So, I've posted a couple of times about going out to the beach on the Pacific w/ Hoku.

This last visit, while walking Hoku, my husband stumbled on a property about 5 minutes' walk away from where we were staying. From where we always stay. From where we've been going for the past two decades. Our very favorite spot on the peninsula, and probably in the state.

It was for sale. 5,600 sq', bordering the dune forests right to the beach. On the lot, a 1958 40' tri-level Park Style mobile home. In pretty good shape—really good shape, actually. 5 minutes' walk to the beach.

It was for sale. It's not any longer.

Awwwwww, heck yea!!!!!! Friggin great find. Just don't fire up that BBQ grill inside lol.

Now, you have power and hooked up to water or on generator and haul the water? What a piece of serenity.

Yeah, the Weber is from the last owner... I assume they stored it inside when they weren't using it.

It has power and water and sewer, for freak's sake! New paint, new porch w/ a deck out front, a bit of clean up and such inside (though the inside is in pretty good shape)... Some planters, adirondacks under the trees... Ready to go.

It's a tri-level, so sleeps six: a bedroom "downstairs" has two twins; upstairs is a bedroom, and a loft.

We were not down there looking for a place, not remotely. Caught off guard, but a quick refinance (which we'd been meaning to do anyway) made this possible. I'm still in a bit of shock.

    You scored!!!! I'm jealous.

Biulding my cabin, I had no power, water was hauled and we won't discuss the sewer part. That's all fixed and I even have Internet. Lol

Good girl Hoku. You ARE going to tell people she found it for you, right? Nice.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
