I'm not talking about the occasional swear word....I know that happens to me once in a while ("Oh, s..." when hearing bad news.) And I usually think, "I wish I wouldn't say that.".
What I mean is a word or phrase that's just wrong for the moment....and you immediately realize it after it's come out of your mouth.
Mine is "see you later".
I tend to use this every morning with random people whom I'll be seeing again the next day, or at least soon, in the park. It's automatic. Well....sometimes it's "see you tomorrow". But with that one there's always the expectation that I will actually be running into them the next day.
But "see you later" isn't appropriate when you know beforehand that you'll never see the person again.
There's a man I tend to run into every morning in the park who let me know that he was moving because "my family wants to take care of me". He's moving to another State. This morning he let me know that this was his last morning to come to the park.
We bumped into each other on both sides of the lake as we walked around it going in opposite directions....and on both occasions, I ended with "see you later". No I won't....and I realized it immediately afterwards. Dumb. So automatic....mindless.
Do you have one?

LOL. Me too. You too.

Yeah...I think everyone does that one at some time or another. I'd forgotten about that one....I wonder if it's because "have a nice day" has become so over-used (prompting that response by others).
Ahhhh.....the feeling of being in good company......
I shake too many peoples hands and say thank you way too many times...But I guess its better than saying what I really think

Every time I hurt myself, I say F'n S..t. It just comes out, no matter where I am. Kids birthday party, work meeting, sports, it just comes out and I cannot control it no matter how hard I try.
I also do this a lot:
Someone: Thanks,Kim
Me: no Thank you!
even though I have nothing to thank them for, ugh!

I tend to use them all...my southern roots insist on me thanking every one for everything. Like our waitress yesterday...I'm sure I thanked here 100 times during.our meal. I'm sure she was pleased at first that she didn't have a rude table but in the end she might have changed her mind.

I'm around teenage boys a lot, and I'm a young woman. Whenever somebody says "What's up?" I automatically go "Me now!"
Omg. Horrible. I need a filter.

I say "no problem" whenever someone thanks me. I should stop, because it usually was a problem. You're welcome is usually more appropriate.
