Been pretty nice here. Of course Sophie hates warm weather, so motivating her to do anything outside is pretty tough!

As much as I look forward to spring I am not a fan of the heat myself. Maybe Sophie and I can shack up together and hybernate

we had a lot of ice....started Wednesday as rain, then snow, then ice overnight into Thurs, then it was supposed to warm up, but didnt't, then more ice overnight last night..

This was 7pm on Wed evening, notice the flag fluttering in the wind...

Then Thurs evening about 10pm, notice the flag, its frozen out sideways, and the one red bar is ripped right off-

tree right beside deck covered in ice

this morning.... my poor birch tree! it survived the last ice storm when this happened to it, so hopefully will again this time

we finally got above freezing for about 3 hours this afternoon, the ice on the upper backyard is a good part gone, but the trees didn't get rid of much ice. tomorrow is supposed to be about 45, and Easter Sunday is supposed to be in the high 50's, so that should do it, hopefully not much wind till that ice gets gone... hard to tell in the pictures, but my cedars are all really bent, and the other evergreens are really saggy and stressed

Love the ice pics we have the same here. I chipped off our back deck and have this huge pile of ice chips sitting in the shaded part of my back yard. They will probably be there until late May.
    Thanks Everyone!!

MOst of our ice is gone from the trees and bushes. We took a drive yesterday and it was SO beautiful. The clumps of roadside Red Ozier Dogwood all looked pink instead of red, because of the ice coating. Today we are looking for a high of +13C and next Sunday the forecast says the high will be -7C. Wacky.

trees are all bare again this morning, but the shaded areas on the ground still have ice. It was gorgeous yesterday when the sun came out around 1pm for an hour or so... we were at field training, about an hour into training and all the dogs were being distracted by the falling ice

Scoutpout: That's a lot of ice. Glad it melted quickly with no wind. With the strong wind storms we've had, I had to replace our POW MIA flag; it was shredding at the end.

About 15 years ago we had a row of Douglas firs along one side of the back yard which had grown to the point that the power line to the house was kinda woven into the tips of the branches. Then an ice storm. Luckily, even though it was on private property, the electric company came by and clipped all the long branches. Guess they figured it was better before the line broke. The summer after, we removed the firs. It was a shame but they were growing up into the overhead lines between the two properties and over our house line.

Oh, I have white and purple crocus blooming today. Yippee!

Been getting a lot of rain here in Oregon. I'm ready for the sunshine as well!
