teaching --this job doesn't stay at work--- reading (love my kindle) mostly fiction, one day I want to write a children's book if I ever get around to it, church stuff -bible study, etc... I actually volunteer as a barista at my church and getting better at it, running, cycling (haven't had time for it since Daisy), hiking and being outside, spending time with fam especially the 7 nieces and nephews, sci-fi and scary TV shows like Walking Dead and GoT, etc.
    SUMMER....I love summer...

This time of year, I like to spend time in my vegetable garden. It's not that big, but I cram a lot of plants into a small space. Last winter I got into baking artisan bread. I enjoy home canning. Give a good chunk of it away, since there are just the two of us. Love going to the library and coming home with a pile of books and then sitting on the deck and look through them.

I'm also a runner - used to do half-marathons but got burnt out last year with the time commitment to training. Now I'm in the 5K and 10K category. Also love to play golf.

Lately I've become obsessed with Agility training...I know this thread is supposed to be interests outside of our dog...but it is in a way. I've been watching videos of other handlers so I can work on my technique. Murphy is really good at following me, 9 times out of 10 it's me that needs the training and practice!!!

I love to entertain and I'm really looking forward to many pool parties this summer. Love trying new recipes and decorating tips. Also I like to garden, read, travel and go to art museums. Going out to afternoon tea is an "event" I really enjoy. I'm a teacher but in another life I would love to open my own tea room. Recently, I've become a steady volunteer with our local lab rescue and enjoy talking with potential adopters at pet fairs (yes, it's dog related but nice not to do something work related or one of my children's activities).

Do my other pets count as interest? I love my fluffy butt chinchillas and spoil them like crazy. I have a dedicated chinchilla room so I don't have chin poop all over my house. hehehe.

Outside of pets I am interested in geocaching, being outside, nail art, and I have been pretty active lately as a cloth diaper, breast feeding, baby wearing advocate.
