Halfway there

Our move to Bend, OR is half done! We got keys last Wednesday and have been schlepping loads back and forth. Well, my husband has, while I stuck back in San Jose and prepped the empty house for sale. SO MUCH PAINTING.

Tomorrow I drive north and officially switch my main residence to Oregon. I am so exhausted from the moving and prep that I haven't even thought much about what is ahead - unpacking, furnishing the new house, and selling our old place. Hopefully the old place will sell quickly - a 4 bedroom listed under a million dollars in silicon valley should go fast.

In the meantime, I have to figure out how to fill in the new place - we're going from 1400 sq ft to 4200. And on top of that we got rid of most of our furniture so we wouldn't have to move it. Hoping out place in San Jose sells fast so we can drop all that cash on furnishing the new place!

Thor is still extremely confused by what is going on, but he runs around the new property chasing critters and happily sniffing everything so I think he'll settle in to a very happy labby life once the move has calmed down.

We are in love with the new property - 10 acres with both a barn and a shop that my husband can use to grow his blacksmithing business. The home and grounds are absolutely stunning, and we got a good deal since the interior needs updates. I can live with the 70's to 90's styling - that can be updated as time and budget allows. What can't be changed is what we love about the property - the space, the neighbors, the views. Looking forward to making this our permanent home.

I know from being in the Air Force and moving every 3 or 4 years how much of a pain moving can be! Take heart, the misery will be over soon!!!!

Congrats on being in the middle of the move! I just moved 5 miles to a new apartment and it's been a nightmare. I can't imagine what you're going through! I'm sure Thor will settle down in no time, and until then, so many new empty rooms to zoomie in!

Once I'm off mobile I'll post some more pics and videos, Thor is having a blast uo here and I'm pretty sure he thinks he is a horse. No internet yet - I'm going to spend the next week unpacking and getting to know the property without the distractions of work and the web.
