    New Bedroom Set

Have never bought an entire bedroom set at one time. The last pieced together set was about 40 years old. Took me some time to find what I wanted - so much out there is press board crap. Dropped in to a little hole-in-the-wall furniture store in town and found exactly what I wanted, solid oak inside and out.

    And the new rug.

Since the pictures, the lamps have been changed out and the picture that was Mom and Dad's hangs over the bureau.

I'm really stuck on what to get for curtains. The wall is a very light grey. Any ideas?

Lovely set. For curtains, since the walls are light grey, I'd pick one of the colors from that beautiful rug, maybe blue or red.

Gorgeous! I agree that red or blue would look very nice. You could even add some decorative pillows to the bed to tie it all together.

Very nice. So glad you found what you wanted. Sometimes those little hole-in-the-wall places have some treasures.

Nice furniture! I prefer the solid feel of nice wood also. I really like the rug, too, and agree that selecting a color from the rug would look great against the light gray neutral tone of the walls and kind of tie the 2 together (rug & curtains). I think a darker red would look stellar with the pale gray walls.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

    love old treasures.
we have, in josh's former room, now our guest room , an armoire that is so old, it's put together with male/female parts. now screws, no nails, no glue. we had a drawer made for it , and shelves (probably ruining the value) but made it so josh didnt need a dresser. i absolutely love it. bamboo trim.
my dil is giving me cory's furniture from his single days, which was from restoration hardware-sleigh bed, which will go in guest room (we have the bed, just taking the frame) and a beautiful armoire that she doesn't like. so, the new armoire will go where the old one is, and the old one is going down in the den, next to my couch where i have a metro rack , right now.
where the goodies from the rack will go, is anyone's guess.

Solid oak, ymmm, very nice. Any little nicks and dings can be sanded out and touched up with a bit of stain. I bet it took some strong men to move those pieces in, even with the drawers out.
