The whole..."You drive it more during the time that we have to wait for final approval, and it continues depreciating" thing really screwed me over. Basically, if I had kept driving my VW until Sept. 1 as I normally drive, they would have been getting more of my cash in hand. That wasn't going to happen. I bought a new car, and the VW sits. By it sitting, they will actually have to give me an additional $660.

yeah I wish I was in position to do the same. The sooner I get rid of this car the happier I will be. I am hoping the buybacks start in Oct

I agree about the mileage. The penalty, which is BS anyway, should stop being counted after a certain date. Like July when they had first hearing or something. But most people bought these cars because they drive so much. So the penalty is just extra kick in the balls to their consumers

Yeah...The way I figure it, I should only have to make 2 car payments for 2 months. Luckily, I have savings that can cover that.

I was really grumpy when the mileage wasn't locked when my claim was submitted. I bought my car about 8 weeks before the issue was "found". I am in a seriously jacked up state when it comes to the buy back. I really think that there should have been some allowances made for people who had purchased their new car within a certain time frame of the acknowledgement of the issue. It just sucks, and I don't trust VW at all, so I bought from an entirely different manufacturer, and I am waiting for the day that I can walk in, say give me my money, and hand them the keys and walk out without looking back.

I got my final offer on Tuesday. It was over 30 days between the time I submitted my documents, and I got the offer. I signed it, notarized it, and uploaded it. Now waiting for the remainder of the instructions so I can get a buy back day scheduled.

    Good to know!

I uploaded and sent in my papers within hours of the email. It took a couple weeks or more for them to let me know they received them and are reviewing them. That was at least two weeks ago. Waiting...

However, I did park the car and I bought a new Outback and added a TransK9 to the back for the boys. I'm a little anxious to get the car back and not have to pay too many more double car payment and double insurance.

Yeah...I am tired of making two payments a month also. I put my VW on storage insurance so I am not paying nearly as much, and when I need to drive it to return it, I just call my agent and have him put it back on. It's saving me quite a bit of money to do that.

It's been almost a week since I got my final offer, and I had the form notarized and uploaded all of the documents. I hope they get their butts in gear. I don't want to have to pay my next payment which is due on Dec. 16...

Got my final stuff last night. It took just about a week from the time I uploaded. Buy back date is December 29. I had to change from my first chosen dealership to get a date before the new year.
