sounds like maybe these kitties need to be the first cat in their new homes, then others can be added after.

LOL It's just a twig about 18 inches long that I use as a toy. I haven't found a cat yet that is not intrigued by the magic stick waving back and forth on the floor in front of cat, scratching on a surface out of sight or retreating quickly from cat towards me. Many a time I've got a skittish cat or kitten to chase the stick and laughed quietly when cat or kitten has gotten out in plain view or very close to me and realized, "Oh my gosh, what have I done, she can see me."

When we got Gizz he was a stray I found in the yard. He ran up to our patio door and looked at Oreo who was on the other size. We did keep them separate for about a week and when we finally introduced them we kept Gizz in a travel crate. Oreo walked up to him, looked at him, and laid down. Strangest introduction I've ever witnessed. Hopefully Patsy works with her brother!

Patsy has been in her new home for a week now, that the Vet's home, so I guess it's ok. I will call her later today to check. I can go visit her any time.

Dilly is a success in her home. I got a photo of her on Friday, she is well loved. Dilly is with a co-worker of the neighbour lady who wanted Derri but Derri didn't work for her.

Another neighbour was supposed to come Friday morning to see Lucy and Derri but never showed. She lives right next door too, wonder what's up with that?

Much as I'm in love with Derri and Lucy it really would be best if they could find homes and we keep the mother. Although a visitor was smitten with the mother. I'd give her up if the OH would agree, it's his cousin who likes her. Seems harsh but I have my own two to think about AND .....

And there's another darn cat outside that we've also been feeding all winter. I'd like to trap it as well and either keep it or find it a home. It's getting quite used to us, especially the OH, but we can't get close enough to pet it. It trusts us enough to do the blinky eyes but from a distance.

    Thank you for asking.

You know, it's funny, some of you know my own Mum is in a Long Term Care home since December and is experiencing varying degrees of dementia. But these kittens, these little cuties, every time I talk about them or show her photos and video on my phone, my gosh, Mum is right with it. She might not remember that her other daughter and her granddaughter visited her just a half hour before I get there but she remembers the kittens. She asks me about them, she laughs at their antics, she smiles, she coos at them, she worries I will end up keeping them all. I really am quite amazed. She asks me more about the kittens than she does Oban or my own two cats. I wish I could take them to see her. Hmmm. Nah, long drive.

Got to thinking about the kittens. A long time ago we did have two cats. When one had to go to the vet for a few days for cancer surgery, when she came back, the other female would have no part of her in the house. It was horrible. They had been gotten together and had always been a pair. DH put up a screen door between two rooms in the basement. They could see and smell each other but no fur was flying. We slowly moved water and food bowls on each side of the screen door. This lasted about a week and actually gave the recuperating cat quiet healing time, but one day opened the screen door and they were best buddies again.

That's just what I want to do with Lexie and my own Itty Bitty Kitty. My hope is to find the kittens homes, then spay Lexie, then do the food by the door thing while Lex is recuperating. I have the screen door and there would have been some bad fights were it not there. Fur did fly, right through the screen. Lexie is an exceptionally protective mother, even now when she's no longer nursing and the kittens are nearly 12 weeks old.
