It seems like everyone else got on board earlier this year, but I just recently joined the fandom. Last month, I downloaded the cast album, then read the Hamiltome (the annotated libretto), and I have been listening to the music repeatedly. I've watched the handful of YouTube videos of performances. And now I'm sad that tickets are like $900 each! Anyone want to buy me a couple?

Yeah, it's wild. One of my kids was given tickets to one of the early performances, before most people had even heard of it, and became a rabid fan. My son in law is a huge history buff, taught it at the high school level for several years, and would give anything to be able to go see it. He listens to the music all the time. I think many people would love to get to see it but at the current prices, it seems like only a treat for the 0.1%.
Yes! I have two kiddos (ages 10 and 13) and we listened to Hamilton every time we were in the car this summer. We are rabid fans (and yes, they have also read the Hamiltome). My son's choir is going to do Schuyler Sisters, and he gets to be Aaron Burr! I can't wait. Hamilton is coming to Los Angeles next summer, but the theater requires that you buy a whole season of shows, and with four of us, there's no way I can afford seven shows (times four). We will see it eventually, though.

In the university retirees group in which I'm active (8 to 20+ hours/week), one of our very recent "films" -- last week I think -- showed a video of a little of the cast performing (probably the beginning of the first act) so we'd have an image of what was happening on stage followed by a cast recording of all the music which was accompanied by the lyrics for each piece projected on the screen. We had about 45 people attending.
I thought it was VERY moving, VERY informative and that if I'd actually attended the show, many of its lyrics would not have been understandable.
A GREAT work of art.
