Drinking out of a Mason Jar

Completely NLR, but I would like to get a general consensus from a non biased crowd. If you attended a wedding where they provided a mason jar for you as your glass for the night, and you got to bring it home, would you like that as a guest? We are thinking of doing this for our wedding, and having straws available as some people don't like to drink out of mason jars. I have created a poll, if you wouldn't like it, mind sharing why?

If the theme or vibe of the reception made mason jars a fitting accompaniment, I would definitely drink from it, probably using a straw. I have plenty of mason jars from various projects and probably would not take it home. I'm probably more the age of your parents, though. I'm pretty certain my kids, who are in their late 20s/early 30s, do not already have mason jars and would be more likely to bring them home.

As long as the theme of the décor went along with using mason jars, I sure would. Would probably use a straw.

Does it come with a canning lid so I can use it when I make pickles?

I use them for drinking now, so it wouldn't be a stretch for me.

Reminds me of high school parties. Somebody would always show up with a mason jar of booze that they had been stealing from their parents liquor cabinet.

I would drink from a mason jar with no problems. Especially if it was a theme. Maybe have some regular glasses on hand in case somebody gets fussy.
    Thanks Everyone!!

I think if the jar is themed specifically it would be nice! I have 6 Lagunitas wide mouth mason jars that I use for drinks. Because these are cutely decorated (there's a dog on the side!) they sit in my drinking glass cabinet, not in my mason jar storage. I also like the wide mouth for drinking - all my other mason jars taper at the top.
