    Rattlesnakes-Buddy did it again.

The Rattlesnakes are out again and Buddy showed that the avoidance training from last year remained imprinted in his memory.
Out on our morning walk with his chuck-it and favorite ball, I tossed it over some trees and waited. After a couple of minutes he came back to me without it. He almost never does that, he finds it every time. Looking around for awhile I finally saw the ball, walking over towards it I saw the reason for him not bringing it back. A large Mexican Red Rattlesnake next to the ball and he wouldn't go anywhere near it. I firmly believe the snake avoidance training saved me from another expensive vet bill and strongly recommend that anyone living or working their dogs in an area inhabited with rattlesnakes take their pets through this training. Atta boy Buddy!

Hate to burst ye bubble SunDance, but ye do have Timber Rattlesnakes (Crotalus horridus horridus) in Maryland, as well as Northern Copperheads - both highly capable of killing a K9.😩☠️

    Good Boy Buddy!

Having lived in MD for many years and doing a lot of hiking, I have come across a rattler. We both were so surprised we both "ran" in opposite directions.
