Yeah...it was love at first sight for Brutus and Hershey. In Bru's eyes, Hersh could do no wrong. He was the ideal big brother. (He also loved our cats right away. Good thing they were used to dogs because Bru had a big tongue and insisted on using it to keep kitty fur spotless.)

Bru was a really good dog....I always wished that I'd known him as a puppy. He definitely turned my heart to Labs.

Mr. Samson is my love! My best friend for sure. Asher has stolen my heart as well. I hope Samson will lighten up eventually. They sure do keep me on my toes.

Barry - Thanks for sharing your thoughts on collars. I agree it does pose an added level of risk. All that biting worries me too! :-)

It is Bitey face all day long here! Forest and Zoey ( a 25 lb mixed breed), who is 7 year old, are at it non-stop. I just ignore it to the best of my ability.

I guess one thing I didn't mention is I'm concerned with Samson's right knee. Last year when he tore his left CCL, the doc tested his right knee and described it as being "loose". It's only a matter of time. I stay close to them when they are doing bitey face. Samson always goes to the same spot on the sectional and flips upside down then Asher goes to his spot. I stay close because at anytime, Samson may launch off the couch. I have hardwood on the border and he will run over it and his back end goes down. I don't interfere with his quality of life but I do limit the craziness. Also, I don't allow them in the backyard together. I will if Asher is on leash.

Mr. Asher has demonstrated 3 times now he can lift up the gate handle and will let Samson back in the living room. I thought it was a fluke last night when he used his nose to raise up the handle. It went up, he slowly used his nose to open the gate, then just sat there until Samson pushed it open and came in. He has done it twice this morning now! I have a a few smart boys on my hands! lol
