    Early Transformational Training

    Aye Mates,

Here's a few glimpses of puppy ALLIE MAE during some early transformational training done this morning. Just o'er 4 months old, ALLIE was worked on patience with TRAD in spending some time on SIT on a training table. ALLIE also did her first five early water retrieves of a bumper today. The wee lass is doing really well. We also did some continuing work on conditioning to gunfire today whilst ALLIE was having lots of fun keeping up with the big dogs. Carefully maintaining observation for any signs of aversion, shots are fired at random times throughout the session and the distance betwixt point of discharge and the location of the pup is gradually decreased under highly positive activity for the pup.

ALLIE and TRAD are delayed in the SIT position on a training table to instill patience and to get the pup accustomed to the training table long prior to beginning HOLD and FORCE FETCH conditioning. This translates to a K9 trainee that is comfortable and less stressed on the training table during FF conditioning. Easier on the pup and the trainer. ALLIE will spend increasing frequency and duration on the table as pre-conditioning for the process of HOLD and FORCE FETCH conditioning. I also put the pup on the table and work on her maintaining visual focus on meself as her trainer.

ALLIE started doing some entry level single marked water retrieves this morning with hex-bumpers. Her enthusiasm grew with each consecutive retrieve as did her confidence level. We did just enough to instill desire and left her wanting more whilst ending it all on a positive note. Awesome work by this wee pup. A joy watching her follow in the footsteps of her sire TRAD. Success based training designed to set the pup up to build set confidence, learn how to learn, and to be motivated toward the development of a strong work ethic.

    Cheers,
    THE DOG WHISTLER

It amazes me how much they learn at such a young age. Keep up the good work Allie!
