And you guys are saying go smaller because it’s easier to carry around? Or is it just better to have the dog more confined when he is waiting for his turn in the ring?

Regarding size I think it boils down to what your going to use it for the most. I have the 42" and it's a bit to lug around, and I'm 6'4". It can get a bit crowded ringside at a trial, so having a smaller crate will need less room. There are times I wish I had a 36", as it would be easier to carry around, and Brooks would fit in it just fine. But, I do use it for both dogs at times, so having the 36" wouldn't work. I think having the bigger size does allow Brooks to stretch out which does make it a bit more comfortable for him.
Had to come back here because just today I peeked in on our foster puppies who were sleeping in the noz2noz crate, and one of them was outside the crate laying next to it...so yes you have to put the zippers in the corner or else they can escape!
I think the 42" might be a lot to lug around if you're taking it to classes and shows a lot, while also holding your dog's leash and whatever other stuff you have.
I agree - plus I know at our training building and at many show sites space is at a premium so it would be easier to fit a 36 inch in .. I am currently at a Lab specialty (Potomac), and the VAST majority of crates in the Obedience/Rally area there are 36 inches ... and probably 75% Noz2Noz at that, LOL.
I borrowed a soft crate from a friend and it is a 36-inch. I totally think it is plenty big enough for Diggity and when folded up is about at the max size I’d want to lug around. Diggity has a larger crate for nighttime and he does sprawl out on his back and takes up the entire large crate when he sleeps, but the smaller size will be better all around for training and events. Thanks for all the advice on the size choices!
