Noz2Noz, and for competitions, 36" is sufficient. I find I dont' have to secure the zippers, I just make sure they are zipped up to the very top in one of the corners.

I've had no issues with the dogs trying to escape, or try to paw open the zippers. Brooks goes in a lays down. I can put Brooks and Sophie in there with no issues.

I got a 42" so I can put both dog in it. If I only needed to use it for Brooks, I'd go with a 36".

I guess Sass is special, LOL. For a while she was managing to hook her nail in the zipper pull and unzip it, but she seems to have forgotten how now that she is older.

We have the 36" noz2noz. My only complaint is that if your dog scratches the floor them it sort of sheds little black material. Otherwise it is insanely convenient and we've used it when traveling with bubba and with all our foster dogs. We have had some foster puppies who have tried to escape from it, but if we put both zippers all the way up to the right or left they can't.

Edited to add: At this point, I would feel bad leaving Bubba in there for more than an hour or so because at 80 pounds I feel like he is pushing the size limit. We really only keep it for the fosters and bubba never needs a crate anymore.

Thx everyone! I’m leaning towards the noz2noz based on the majority of you who have it and like it. Seems like a good choice among a solid group of options!

I use those jigsaw play mats you can get just about anywhere and 2 usually fit well in a 36" crate. Keeps them from scratching the bottom.

Do you all think a 75-pound lab (his projected weight) would fit into a 36 inch crate?

Mulder was 24" and 83lbs and we used a 36 inch crate for shows and car travel and he was fine. If he was going to be crated all day at home, I probably would have gotten a bigger one, but he didn't need to be in it for hours as a full grown adult. I think height matters more than weight in determining crate size, anyway.

Agree with Annette. If you're going to use it for travel, training, dog shows then 36 is fine. If you plan to crate him all day at his adult weight, I would go bigger.
