    peeing on my bed!!!!!!!!!!!

well to start I have 3 dogs. 2 labs one yellow who will be 8 years in 2 days and a chocolate who is 5 and a beagle who is 4 years. now my yellow is a pretty good dog and I have never had an issue with her messing in the house. well not that in know of. but my chocolate lab and my beagle are the ones who still pee and poop in my house. only thing is that I never quite know who is doing this naughty business. and sometimes I come home and one of them had peed on my bed. I always let the little buggers outside before I go anywhere. the only thing I can think of to do is set up one of my trail cameras in my house to catch them in the act to really find out who is messing my bed. and 2 make sure the bedroom doors are closed.!!!!!!! I am looking for any reasoning and tips on how to fix/change this situation, its very frustrating. and when I see pee or poo in my house I always say who did this and both my beagle and chocolate lab always look guilty. so its very hard to pin point the blame.

How long have you had them? Did you raise them as a puppy or were they rescued as adults? What methods have you tried? Are they male and if so, are they neutered?

If I were you, I would invest in one or two crates (depending on whether you find out who is doing it). Crate them when you are not home or not there to supervise. This will not give them the chance to pee and poop all over the house and added bonus, you don't have to worry about keeping the bedroom door closed! In the mean time, I would go back to potty training 101. Take them out often (every ten minutes or so) and encourage them to pee/poop. Add a command as they do so and hold a party when they do what you want. Reward with enthusiastic praise (think, winning the lottery) each and every time. Eventually, you can phase the crate out over time. For example, leave them out for ten minutes. If there's an accident, back in/let out for shorter time or if there isn't, you can extend the time outside.

Taking them back and pointing to the crime scene does nothing. The association is gone. The dog does not know what you want. Instead, they are just confused about why they are getting yelled at and "look guilty" to appease you. If looking guilty makes you stop being mad or frustrated, they will do so because it works. It doesn't necessarily mean that they did it.

Shock twist, it might even be your 8 year old Lab.

Your dog's are not expressing guilt, they are reacting to your anger and frustration. If you don't catch them in the act, it is not effective to react or reprimand. Close the door, crate the dog's and go back to basic house training.

agree they are not feeling guilty they are reacting tto your body language.

It sounds like neither the chocolate and the beagle are house trained and you need to start from scratch in house training. Which means constant supervision or in a crate (or if you don't crate train, a small area).

Both dogs need to be crated. Possibly exercised more. Beagles are notoriously difficult to house train, by the way, but that does not mean it's not your Lab.

And it's not guilt the dogs are expressing, but a reaction to your anger, just like the others said.

The best way to find out who, will poop anyway, get some kid safe glitter, like at a craft store, add a little bit to only 1 of their food and make sure they don't share. Next time it happens. If there is glitter or not yo uknow who did it. And your lawn will be sparkly for a while too.

I don't remember who it was but they had this problem as well and thats how they were able to figure out who. Once you know who then you know where to aim to fix the issue.

hahaha. the glitter trick is great. lol yeah crating in not an option thats where me and my husband don't agree I have a crate and wanted to use a crate from the very beginning. but as puppies they cry and he wasn't putting up with that wining at night. so that didn't help the situation. P.S I am the only one to clean up their mess when they do!!!! yeah I have a lot of work ahead of me. thanks for all the advise I will try some of your tactics.

The crying is only temporary until they get used to it. And by temporary I mean a few days.

Once you find out who is doing it -- cameras, glitter, whatever -- what will you do without a crate? The only option is to relegate the dog in a separate room while you are not home, like a laundry room, kitchen, bathroom where the dog will likely pee and/or poop anyway, or possibly freak out from being separated and become destructive, or kick the dog outside, which is not recommended and is less safe or humane than a crate. Not to mention the whining and barking he'll do all day while you're at work, which the neighbors will probably really hate to have to listen to.

There are plenty of articles online regarding crate training. Perhaps you can share them with your husband.
