Can you combine activities? Say the dog park. You can run the perimeter while she is in there, you can still keep an eye on her and she will get used to you running off, then coming back, then running off... Once she is satisfied, you go back home then go for your needs.

Same at the lake, can she 'entertain' herself while there? You could run to the lake with her off leash, run the shoreline to a field or open place, play with her then run around the perimeter of the field for a bit, play with her....

I don't run so don't know if this would work for your needs. Would 'running in place' while you throw things in the water work for your needs?

My little black gal is VERY energetic. At 14 months she still NEEDED 4 or 5 hours a day of off leash run like a nut time. My life was put on hold for almost 2 years until she grew and I learned how to control her energy, and she could control it too. Wake up, eat, go outside for an hour or so for off leash activity. Put her in her enclosure (not as large as yours but not a crate), go to work, come home, grab a sandwich and go outside to the words or lake... If it was dark, I had a headlight. If it was raining, I had my rain gear, cold and raining or whatever, we were outside for 4 or 5 hours of off leash activity every day. Did it suck? OMG yes!!!! That little creature wore me out!

At 3, she will be content with an hour at the lake, come home, nap then an hour or so then of hide and seek or something at home. We can even take a "Chill Day" where we do NOTHING all day! I do have to prepare her for this at first wakeup. But we also still spend at least 4 days a week swimming or running in the woods for 4 or 5 hours. My full attention is on her and her needs. She has great conformation and powerful muscles as well as stamina to match. I want to keep that going for as long as I can, for her long term health.

Wow, 4-5 hours!! I thought I had my hands full!! I think mine would love 2 hours of off leash time but she generally gets less than 2 during the week. It might be hard to run at the dog park if there are other dogs there-- I have done that also but I can't supervise my dog if she's playing with another dog and I'm running laps. Just something to think about- dog parks are great but only if dogs are supervised 24/7. It's harder than supervising children at a playground!!!
