All great help above! The key is consistency. Everyone needs to be on the same page. Same rules, same commands... If one person allows a behavior that is not acceptable, it becomes a grey are to her and she will press the issue. An example would be... ahh.. Oh, NO on the furniture! If that is the rule IT IS THE RULE! Once someone brings her up, on their lap while sitting on the couch, because she is just too darn cute... It is all over.

Playing tug, I go both ways on, depending on the puppy. With my first two black gals, it was a really fun game! With my current gal, it is a challenge. Meaning it is not a game, she NEEDS to win. She was also a horrible biter as a young pup, so I don't play any game where withholding things from me is a part of it.

Then the biting part. Sunshine was a spawn of satan piranha puppy. I still have scars. God made them really cute so you do not kill them. NOTHING worked at that stage of her life with me, nothing. Now, I just say "Ow" and she will STOP! I do not allow teeth on skin at all, period. If we are playing and she gets a bit too excited and accidently bites me while trying to get something, I give out an OW, grab the part she bit and the game ends. I walk away.
