6 year old kennel dog peeing in house

I just adopted Hope from a breeder of hunting dogs. she always lived in a kennel. When I got her she wasn't really potty trained but she will basically go potty on command. I have kept her on a pretty good schedule to go out, usually starting at 5:45am, then 7:15am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, 4:00pm & then 8:00pm. this also coincides with play time & walks.
She comes to work with me so she gets out for 3 walks during working time.
BUT every once in a while she will just pee in the office or my house. Very random. Always in the same spot too. I don't get mad at her but am not sure what to do. I have cleaned the area several times, is it marking? Anything I can do to to stop this?

What did you clean it with? Need to really make sure the scent is gone, I'd suggest using Nature's Miracle if you have not already. Might not hurt to also check for a UTI to rule that out. Other than that, just have to treat her like a puppy, don't let her out of sight or give her the opportunity to go.

Totally agree with Shellbell. We home older dogs and it's basically potty training 101. Unlike puppies, they learn quickly and can "hold it" longer. I've found that within a week most are completely trustworthy. Archie was the exception, took him a little longer.

Remember, for 6 years whenever Hope needed to go, she just went. She needs your help and praise to help her succeed. She'll get there. Don't be afraid to hold a huge happy event each time she goes outside including treats and loving.

I agree with Shellbell. Hope is just now learning how to be inside the house for the first time in her life, so it's not dissimilar to a puppy learning the ropes. I wouldn't let her out of your sight and if she can't be supervised, it sounds as if she is accustomed to a crate. I would imagine it won't take more than a couple of months for her to get the hang of the house rules (quicker than a puppy!). That is so, so great that you adopted a breeding girl! She's going to have such a great second half of her life!

If she is peeing in the same exact spot, I, too, would thoroughly go over the area with an enzymatic cleaner to dissipate all urine molecules and after it is dry, put a chair in that spot to make it less accessible. I would also rule out a UTI, just in case it's a sense of urgency that's nudging her to go right now. Is she very comfortable knowing exactly where the door to go out is? When we bring our 7 month old to a new place, we have to show her the door to the outside and reinforce the pee command with cookies. We learned if she didn't know where to go, she would get confused and just finds a spot to pee (awkward in a friend's house).

Does she give any hints when she needs to go? Standing in a certain spot? Getting antsy?

Thanks everyone for the tips. As for the questions, she doesn't really give me an indication that she needs to pee. With poop yes, it's very obvious. I do throw her a party every time she goes out to poop or if we are in the car & she warns me. She is very praise motivated so I will throw her another party for peeing........we are going to have a lot of parties!!! I guess maybe I wasn't as diligent as I should have been. I think I thought she would get things super fast because she is SO obedient & so sweet. But I did hire a trainer who told me that it will take her 6 months to really settle in.
