    I think what Labradorks is suggesting is that you keep him in your sight at all times. If there are no doors to lock then you can tether him to you with a long leash.

    I wanted to follow up with our marking issue. The trick from my 2nd link is working - yahoo! I placed one of the dog beds over the area he was marking at the base of the stairs and he hasn't marked there since. I also switched bathroom rugs and he hasn't marked in there either. Fingers crossed we're done with marking.
