Went with a gentle lead today...

The last few walks were the last straw for me. On Sunday I took Georgia to a school yard and practiced heal, sit and stay and she did okay but then as soon as we started the regular walk she was her usual lunatic self. Pulling and going crazy when she sees other dogs. Last night I said to my wife who makes me hold the leash, I can't take it anymore. My arms and fingers are killing me.

We were using a choke collar with no luck. It just doesn't phase her. Today I tried a gentle lead and it was the best walk I have every been on. She didn't overly care for it stopping every few minutes to try and get it off but I wasn't sore when I came back.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Glad it went well. I haven't tried one with Lark. After working hard to get Chase accustomed to one, he'd still be like a marlin on the end of a fishing line, jumping, rolling, acting like he was in terrible distress. He scratched his face up trying to get it off so I switched to a prong. I've seen some of my neighbors with their dogs trotting happily along with a Gentle Leader on though, so if it works for Miss Georgia, great! It does make for a more pleasant walk when they're not acting all wild and crazy!

Using the training tool that works can sure save your arm and sanity. Glad it's doing the job.
