Weight question! :)

So Aeris weighed about 42 lbs when she was spayed 2 months ago. Then about a month ago I weighed her, she was about 43 lbs. Now we went to the e-vet last night and she came up 45 lbs.

Is it normal for them to gain weight so slowly? I know because I'm with her every day, I wouldn't notice a lot of growth anyway, but she's just not gaining any weight at all....

Is this normal? I don't think I'm stunting her growth. I feed her Blue Buffalo adult food, she's been eating adult food since she turned 6 months (for joint health). I am happy with her no matter what, but I heard that dogs continue to get bigger until they're over a year?

ALSO her parents were working field Labs, but I wonder why her tail is always in a curved shape? I've seen other Labs with it before, but what is it? is she mixed breed and I just didn't see it in her parents (don't care if she is, sucks that the "breeders" lied to me but it's what I deserve for not researching first and going to a byb, even if I barely paid anything for her to "take her off their hands")? it's like this:

Thanks!
Para

Tucker's growth has been the same....he hit 5.5 months and it just stopped. Hes now at 52 lbs at 7.5 months. Also, his tail does the curl thing too.....ive always wondered why....

Harleigh has kind of come to a slow halt also. I just weighed her and she weighs 70.5 pounds, even though she looks a LOT thicker.. I don't understand! LOL.

She's gained around 6 1/2 pounds since the last time she was weighed, which was when she was 6 months old.

I guess maybe its normal? I really don't know.

Oh and Harleigh's tail does the curve thing also. She is actually supposed to be a mixed breed, but someone told me Saturday that she was full Lab because she was all black (she does have the TINIEST white spot on her chest, but you can barely see it). She said that if she was mixed then she would have white on her toes and a big patch on her chest or somewhere on her.

I'm not sure if that's true or not... But I am very interested.

How tall is Aeris? Last time I measured Harleigh she was 27 1/2 inches tall.. I'm not sure if that's normal or not. She may have grown an inch though because I think she just went through a small growth spurt.

(Imagine her without the Pumpkin on. )

She is very butt-high.. Maybe her front end will grow into it.

Oh and this is the best one of her tail. She does it all the time, but I guess I've never taken a good picture. It's kinda hard to see though..

The rescue i got Tucker from said he was lab/border collie.
Ok...maybe its me...but i see no Border collie!
So im assuming full lab. He's growing into his ears but hes not as built like Harliegh.
Hes very trim and 52 lbs. For a boy i wouldve expected more....lemme find a new pic of him...

The pic is from september my new pics are on my camera at home...ill have to post a newwer one tonight.

Tucky gets fed 4 cups a day 4X a day....and he still doesnt put weight on.

YES. Both Tucker and Harleigh have the same tails as Aerie!! Especially Tucker. Her parents were both Labs, so I was told. It's funny, non-Lab people go, "Oh she's a Lab mix!" And people who own Labs go, "Oh a Labrador!" It's just weird But she's a field line, I am beginning to think poorly bred field lines just have a curved tail.. unless someone knows better than I can tell me LOL

And as for the weight thing.. I guess I will just have to see where it goes, considering it doesn't seem to be that rare. It just answers my question that I'm not stunting her growth somethow

P.S, when you showed the picture of Harleigh in her pumpkin, I at first thought it was Aeris!!

Look,

LOL And I see NO Border Collie in Tucker. Labs do have "mismarks", little patches of white on the chest or feet... it's completely normal, though I'm not sure it is good for conformation shows or not. So it's very possible Tucker is all Lab. BC's normally have that slender, lanky look to them IMHO...

Mason is still growing fairly rapidly. He weighed 59 lbs when we got him at 6 months old and now at 8.5 months he weighs 72 pounds. He is about 24 inches at the shoulder.

He has a pretty good curl / hook at the end of his tail - that's how we got him. He was bought by a women to be her new stud / show dog but then his tail started to curl and from what I was told it is a serious fault if not a total disqualification. Anyway, he didn't fit her needs so we got to 'adopt' him. He's from more of the English show lines so I guess it's not just the field dogs that can get the curl. We think it gives him character!

haha I love the curl, to me I can always tell how she's feeling by it. If it's straight out and curled at the tip, she's interested in something. If it's lowered down and the curl is relaxed, she's relaxed. If it's out and slightly curled, she's just sniffin around. That curl tells me how she's feeling, especially since her face always looks sad lol!

I guess the curl just happens? Maybe that's why a lot of non-Lab people go "Oh is that a mix?" Because they don't know of the curl...

Mason's face always looks a little sad to me too - unless he's got a frisbee in his mouth! DD always says that maybe he misses his first family. She's only 4 and I think was kind of unsettling to her that they would just give him up. In hindsight, maybe we shouldn't have told her the whole truth on that one. Anyway, we kind of use the tail and curl as a gage to his true feelings also.

LOL. They do look alike in their pumpkins! That is too funny

I agree.. I don't see any Border Collie in Tucker. I would think if he did have some he would have a little bit more white and be more furry... Maybe not.

I really have no clue what Harleigh is... I've been told she's a poorly bred field Lab, poorly bred "pet" Lab, poorly bred Lab in general, a Lab that doesn't look all that poorly bred (Hmmm.. I don't know about that one!), Yes, she is a Great Dane or Bullmastiff mix, No way she doesn't look anything like either of those breeds and I could go on and on with things people have told me.

Oh well... I'll love her all the same.

Wait my favorite ones!! She's either too skinny or too fat to be a pure Lab.

Wow, i cant believe Mason is growing so quickly...
I know Tucker is getting taller, my mom comes over bout once a week and keeps saying how hes getting taller. He probably is, i dont see it cause i live with him lol.
Tucks been stuck at 52 lbs for what feels like forever now...He's been on Orijen 6 fish which is supposed to be a all life stages food, could that be why hes not gaining??
These pups always gotta get us worrying or wondering lol.

It'd be cool to do a DNA test on her and see what percentage she was of each breed, to look the way she does! haha I want to start telling people Aeris is part Lab and part Spider Monkey And I get the too skinny thing also....

Also, it's cute that Mason has a "sad look" too... for a while the fiance and I thought maybe she was depressed, but we realized we were just being silly, it's the way she looks! lol

I know right?? I've been considering switching to puppy food, I know they shouldn't eat too much because it will make them grow to fast but now she's stop growing completely! I feed Blue Buffalo Adult, and now I just got a bag of Innova Adult, but she's gained like, 4 lbs in 2 months! whaaaa

Mattie has been about 80 pounds since he was probably around 11 months. He is a year and a half now.

He is a pure bred English lab.....they tend to be on the shorter side with more muscle. I honestly don't know how tall he is.

And he doesn't have that curve in his tail.........
