    Hi, Belynda...welcome!

In addition to the above, I'd whole-heartedly recommend two things that worked for our yellow girl Honey's separation anxiety (years ago):

Pheromone collars mimic the pheromones of a pregnant bitch and serve to calm down/mellow out most dogs. I'd used one by D.A.P. and this seems to be the same product: https://www.amazon.com/Adaptil-Appea...ollar+for+dogs

ThunderShirt. I'd used an "anxiety wrap" on Honey...the precursor to the ThunderShirt. It worked really well. You have to sensitize the dog before using it for stressful situations: https://anxietywrap.com/ There's also the ThunderShirt that I can vouch for helping with my neighbors' Yorkie's thunderstorm fear but, I'm afraid, is something that scares both of my present dogs. It's supposed to be the exact same premise as the anxiety wrap, so here's a link for the TS: Dog Anxiety Vest | Shop Dog Anxiety Treatments | ThunderShirt

The TS is sold in lots of places...maybe the AW is, too. These are not necessarily the cheapest links, just the ones I chose to copy. These are places for good measuring instructions and tips for proper fit, though.

I wouldn't use wire crates for dogs with separation anxiety as they can really easily hurt themselves.
Since you down know much about her she might not have been crate trained or they used the crate as punishment, left her in for many many many hours without breaks etc.... so i always start with crate training, teaching he word "crate" or whatever you want to call it (house, kennel, etc...) using treats and leaving them in it while i'm in the same room, then a different room, for short amounts of time moving to larger ones, then leaving the house for small amounts of time too longer and etc.....
There are also Impact crates, large metal crates like the ones that have been shown above, they might look really heavy duty, and be really expensive, but they will last years and years while also keeping Bella very safe from getting injured.
I would get a nice big one to give her nice room to move around and such but she will not be able to get out.
make she she's getting the mental and physical exercise she needs, especially before being left in a crate it will help out immensely.
Good Luck with your girl! Keep us posted and share photos of her soon

Awwww....she's a real cutie. Sure hope the ThunderShirt etc. will work for her separation anxiety...that can't be fun for her to live with, either.

Welcome! I've dealt with many issues over the years, but never separation anxiety. As you've already found, there are many very knowledgable here.

Welcome .Gigi even though was gotten at 8 weeks suffered from it. I will throw back what works. use a diffuser and use lavender oil . It calms them down near her crate.

I think you first need to work on making her comfortable in the crate when not around.even when you are home say in the kitchen throw in there for 5 minutes or few to start. stuffed frozen kong toy maybe . Mine loved lamb lung and she only got those treats only in the crate, also when you sleep put her in the crate right by your bed side. i think once you have her accepting the crate then you can move to leaving her. Dogs i do not think understand time concept for them u leaving her in there for 2 minutes or 2 hrs is the same once she learns to stay in the crate.

mine only calm downed down now for me,she will take the crate command from my wife and even kids. But for me she will try to not to listen till a few months back. good luck i think this took a few weeks to get going .Once done you will be happy for it.
    good luck.
