    New puppy Lab/? Mix

Hello everyone! My name is Ron and my wife and I have a new puppy. He is supposedly a golden retriever/ lab mix. We got to meet the mom but not the dad. I am having trouble believing he's mixed with a golden. I'll post pictures to show what I mean.

    This pic.

Looking at just this pic I have no problem with the lab/golden mix claim.

But take a look at the full pic

The tail is what throws me off. What do you guys think?

P.s. we won't love him any less if he's not part golden.

welcome and congrats on the very cute new addition.

it's VERY hard to guess at that age. many puppies all look alike. Labs are also the most bred breed so the variance in looks of a "purebred lab" can be significant on their own much less adding another breed.

He's awfully cute! It looks like he has a white tip on his tail and a few little white toe tips, which makes me think he might have something else aside from lab in there, but who knows? Labs can have some mismarking. It will be fun to see how his looks develop as he grows! So, what's the little dude's name?

Welcome to the board....he's a cute little guy. I, too, want to see how he develops...don't want to venture a guess as to the mix.

    Hello and Welcome!

I'm not good at guessing mixes. What I can tell you is that you have one absolute cutie.

He looks a lot like my border collie/golden mix did as a puppy! But whatever he is, he's adorable!

Thanks everyone! His name is Cole. I wanted to spell it coal but the boss lady had the last say lol. I was thinking maybe a husky mix but I've googled lab/husky mixes and they tend to have different colors.

My guys' DNA tests show Husky in the mix (Sunnie's third-most represented breed, also Danny's third-most)....

He's cute. Could be any sort of mix. So many Labs are bred that you'll often see full-blooded Labs that have a "gay tail" (one that is carried high) or a tail that is carried over their back. Same with Goldens. To me he looks like a mix with a herding breed. Regardless, he's adorable and I'm sure you'll enjoy him.
