So I have a few quick questions. Scout does not have an appointment with the vet until Thursday. I have some concerns about his skin. He did have quite a bit of fleas when we got him so this may be the cause. Anyway, we bathed him really well with burts bees soap and put a flea collar on him. He is still itching quite a bit but not as frequent. He had a small bald spot on top of his head and there seems to be a few smaller ones along with the original that we are now seeing. He also has some balding on the back of his legs possibly have been there from day one and I'm just being paranoid. He has what looks like some yellow/flakey spots on his skin. Any idea what it may be? Thank you! attached are pics of his belly and his head. You can see the yellowish spots. Like i said, He has a 8 week vet appointment Thursday but if this is very bad im going to try and get an earlier appointment.

    8 week update

Just a quick update after his 8 week checkup. We had a skin scrape done to test for mange or any kind mite. We where pleased and shocked to find that it came back clean. The vet stated that it was more than likely from his fleas. He did have them pretty bad when we brought him home. He is currently on some antibiotics to help fight what infection there was on his head. Other than that lil Scout is doing well and growing fast. Here is a quick pic of him and his scabbed head! I think he likes the cold tile on his belly

Sweet face. Those are some impressive looking bare patches from fleas. Hope he's feeling better!

Agreed, I think the flash on the camera made them look a bit exaggerated but was definitely prevalent.

    Scout is a cutie.

Be warned. LOL I was getting up in the middle of the night with a puppy. It took me about a week to figure out the golden retriever was "playing" me. He would get me up in the middle of the night, and we'd go outside. Come back in a play for a little, then back to bed for both of us. He just wanted to play in the middle of the night, didn't need to go outside at all. They "play" us and we fall for it. LOL Life with a puppy.

    Welcome to the group!

Haha! They are so funny. He no longer wakes up in the night. He's been sleeping fine and wakes up at 6am like clock work. The first couple nights where tuff!
