“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Hello and Welcome!
Not great on puppy advice since we home seniors. You do need to give generous doses of love, patience, consistent training, patience, and more patience. You're in for the best ride of your life.

Kissing Bandit
welcome and congrats, what a cutey.
I recommend signing up for puppy classes ASAP (generally can be done after their first shot). Socialization needs to be done safely as the dog doesn't have full immunity yet (doesn't have all their vaccinations) but you can't wait until they do as the major socialization window ends at 12 weeks (before all shots are done). A lot can be done in safe ways. Have friends over, meet friends dogs who are both friendly and up to date on vaccinations. puppy classes. Go slow and keep it positive (it's not just about number of meetings but quality of hte meetings), if the dog need some space give them space. let them approach on their terms. don't overwhelm (too many people/dogs at once, or for too long). And don't forget it's not just people and dogs, but sights, sounds, textures, etc.
