So happy you found a new furry family member. Post some pictures. :-) I have a soon to be 1 yr old on my hands and he's a lot of work too. I'm sure you are having fun with the new pup. Welcome aboard!
Hi everyone I have always had a dog. My last dog Libby (short for liberation ) was a rescue ,as were a couple of others. This time the RSPCA Were unwilling to let me have a young dog due to my age, sixty eight. I wanted to adopt a two to three yr old. However after losing Libby last sept due to old age I was reluctant to take an older dog and repeat the heartache too soon. Also I applied to a lab rescue and didn’t hear back. Therefore I decided to get a pup. I knew it would be hard work and it is 😁 she is three months old and we are starting training classes tomorrow. She will sit and stay and her recall has been good. However she is getting a little cocky now so back to basics with a training leash! I look forward to sharing news wand getting tips from others 😁

Welcome! You need 5 posts to show us some pictures...we'll be waiting to see your girl (I presume she's Nellie?). Enjoy her puppyhood...it's honestly far too short even though the naughty stages themselves seem to last forever.
Welcome to the board, look forward to hearing great stories about your pup!!!
Welcome to the board and get your post count up so we can have a look at your pup. Pictures and stories are the things we thrive on.
Welcome to the board, looking forward to photos.
You couldn't adopt because of your age? I never thought of that. My friend lost her Lab girl to good old age this year and I've been gently plying her with stories of rescues, older and younger. It never occurred to me she might be rejected because of her age, older than you.

Welcome!

That's horrible! No, not the puppy, but being told you're too old to welcome a new dog into your home. Couldn't you lie about your age? Or could you get a certificate of good health from your doctor? Good grief!
But you did the right thing. Screw them! Get your own pup and enjoy the heck out of the journey.
Congrats on the new pup. They are a lot of work but it's fun work -- most of the time.
