She's a cutie!!!! Looking forward to hearing about her journey to become a guide dog!
She is darling! What a great thing to do.
I am sure while we may be helpful, I know GDA will be giving you a ton of guidance. Guide dogs are extraordinarily expensive, from planning, conception, birth through raising, and eventually guide dog school, so success is in everyone's favor.
There are a few puppies from my breeding program in GDA's program in Sylmar, so that puppy could very well be related to one of my dogs.
Have fun and enjoy this time with her.
If GDA allows, get her out and about, (feet not touching the ground yet) like Starbucks in your lap, (or a local hardware store in the basket covered by a towel etc...) while your SO or spouse runs in the get coffees, and the 10 or 15 minutes it takes to drink it. This gets Pixel out in the car for rides, exposed to noises outside, (think motorcycles, cars backfiring, bicycles, noisy kids, men, women, tall and small). Bring small treats and have others feed her some, and pet her, so she learns people are good and nothing to be fearful of. They may direct you differently, like perhaps not allowing others to feed the puppy, because that will have to un-train that later so they don't expect treats while they are working, but you get the idea, start as soon as you can, and shoot for car rides at least 4-5 times a week, even if it is just around the corner.
How exciting!

How wonderful that Pixel may be related to one of your dogs. GDA wants me to take her out and about (preferably in a shopping cart in stores) after she is vaccinated at 4 months. I love the idea of frequent car rides. I could do that right away! One of the puppy raisers suggested teaching her to lie in the passenger foot-well.
Oh my...what a beautiful baby girl....just love her...
What a wonderful thing to do....all the best!
So very exciting for you and Pixel!
What a cutie little girl, all lab and ready to go. What an exciting adventure you have to explore with the help of GDA and others. Please keeps us updated with MANY photos and stories.
