    Lab is having tremors

My 3yr old yellow Lab has starated having tremors that sometimes last several hours. She clings to me while this is happening. Her doctor is going to do tests but right now we wonder if it's because she's been eating the new sod. We've fenced the area off now and wonder if anyone has had this happen. Thank you

I'd have the sod tested for chemicals if you're sure she's eating it. If she's been poisoned, that information could be necessary for the vet to take the right course of action.

With any luck, it might turn out that she's just experiencing the painful results of dietary indiscretion and that scares her (Labs can be very sensitive to new, uncomfortable, sensations)...the shaking could be fear, especially since she's clingy during the episodes.

I don't know how long petit mal seizures can last but you might want to look into that, too. My yellow girl started having them at the age of 6 from internal overheating...but they lasted nowhere near that long. (OK....Google says they last only seconds but recovery can take up to 24 hours...so I think this is still a possibility.) The mix I have now is supposedly 1/2 Lab (DNA test) and she's a basket of nerves and anxiety....so many things cause Sunnie to shake, it's unbelievable...it's fear.

Good luck. Please let us know what you find out.

Scary. Starting at the same time you laid new sod is concerning, I agree with Barb. That sod should be safe for human children, but you never know what might have been sprayed on it, intentionally or not.
