Good Afternoon! My husband and I recently became parents to a beautiful chocolate lab, Tess, she is six months old now and FULL of endless energy! Everything was progressing smoothly until just recently my husband took a deployment for a year and Tess and I moved home with family. Needless to say they have two dogs who are not well behaved and thus far it has been a nightmare. Between introducing new dogs, to meeting a cat for the first time, to having a few accidents in the house, to finding her bark (not happy about this one!!!!). I feel like I am non-stop watching her. So any suggestions to keep a curious pup busy would be greatly appreciated!
Lots of walks and training sessions. Start the training sessions in as quiet a place as you can (your room would be good) and then gradually add distractions/distance. The more you tire her out with training and exercise, the better she will be.
For the accidents I am a big proponent of crate training. Although that young her accidents could just be from being excited. I've seen a lot of other people on this site swear by crate training as well. Rio hasn't barked in his kennel since the first few nights we brought him home and we havent had an accident since about 12 weeks old.
I do keep her in a crate when I leave the house and have no problem getting her in the crate. I try to work with her daily on training, our biggest issue right now is selective listening
Hello and Welcome!
You have a lab at a very busy stage. Tons of exercise and training, love and patience.
Welcome! Not sure where you are in NY but we have many fabulous places in the great outdoors to help with socialization.

Hello and Welcome! There is a lot of good information and support on the forum. Labs are so energetic and smart.
Hi and welcome to you and Tess and God's speed for your husbands safe return.
We've gone thru your Tess's stage with our Buddy now 16 months old. As the others have mentioned, lots of love, attention, training and most of all patience.
Looking forward to hearing about your adventures.
Thanks for the support, I am already reading some great posts and look forward to the years to come!
