    I'm new...again!

    Hello!

My name is Jeanne and I lost my place here before having had a chance to post an intro. I was happily wading around for a bit first before finding myself unable to get back to the site. I'm glad that this wonderful forum is back up and running as I was learning so much going through warm and informative posts.

So, my sweetheart of a yellow lab is named Kayla and we are just two weeks shy of a year since bringing her home from our local Humane Society. I have only ever owned small dogs (<25#) prior to this and while my Kayla is on the smaller end of the lab-scale (55-60 pounds), she is 'big' and lovable to us.

She is great with our two young grandkids who have a couple of labs themselves, which is a big plus for us. Although leash reactive with other dogs (in frustration, not aggression), Kayla has yet to meet a person she doesn't like. We continue to work on her reactivity and trust that in due time, we'll be able to help her become the best she can be.

Kayla was brought in as a stray and was thought to be a lab-mix and about a year old (so, about 2 now). However, upon her first wellness check, our vet saw and said, "She has a lab coat, lab paws, lab ears, a lab tail..." (reminding me of "if it looks like a duck..." lol). So I figure that she may very well be a purebred, but not necessarily well bred (narrow head/face). At any rate, she's our pet and we adore her for whatever she is or isn't. lol

You all have such beautiful labs and I am honored to be able to join the group as I continue to learn, as best I can, how to be the best I can be for Kayla.

    Cheers,
    Jeanne

Hi and welcome! Kayla sounds like a wonderful pup and I can't wait to see some pictures of her. BTW, thank you for giving her the loving forever home she deserves.
