Hi, I am new to this forum. I was matched with my first Lab though a service dog organization 10 months ago. I have really fallen for the breed even though I am still getting use to the shedding (I grew up with poodles). I am hoping to perhaps do Rally with him either the end of this year or perhaps next spring. Hope to learn more about Labs. Thank for reading

Welcome to you and Jones! Yes, labs are big shedders- that's why I wear lots of black clothing!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Hi and welcome to both of you! Jones is a very good looking boy and don't worry: the minute you get the right color clothes, carpets and stuff, the shedding becomes a lot less of a problem

Hello and Welcome Jones and family!

Yep, shedding is a part of life with labs. I fully put up with the "puppies" rolling around to have a lab in my life. BTY, I also have a GSD and shedding in spring and fall is constant.
