    Hello

    Hello

Im new to this forum. I live in Vancouver, BC and i am searching for a good labrador breeder in the BC area.
I prefer the English Labs as it is my understanding they are not as high energy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi and welcome!

There are a fair number of members in Canada so hopefully someone can help you out. We do not post the names of breeders on the open forum, but if you go to various sections of this board and make a comment on a few threads, members who have any info can send you a private message with suggestions. I can't remember if you need 5 or 10 posts to receive messages. You can go say Hi to other new members in Welcome Wagon or go to the Fun Stuff section and answer some of the games, or look at some puppy pictures and say nice things about them.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

hello and welcome to the board!
As mentioned above already, we can't name breeders so you'll need to get a few more posts so we can send your suggestions via private messages (I think it's 5 or 10 posts, lots of sections you can go and quickly get that done in a minute) here is a thread that talks abit about it: Asking About Breeders or Where to Get a Puppy

When choosing a breeder (even if it's one recommended here) ask lots of questions and get proof of HEALTH CLEARANCES. labs are the most popular breed and most breed, and unfortunately this has lead to some major health issues in the breed. Many of them the breeder can test the parents for prior to breeding. Hips, elbows, eyes, heart, eic, cmn are the minimal clearances the breeder should have on both parents (and grand parents and so on really). here is a thread with a bit of info on clearances and what they are - note these are not done at a "regular vet visit" and a breeder cannot "tell" by looking at his dogs if they have the potential for them or can give the them to their offspring.

    Clearances For Labs

Also ensure the breeder breeds for temperament and asks YOU lots of questions about what you want and your lifestyle. a good breeder spends 8 weeks with the puppies learning about them and is the best person to recommend a puppy or two that is the best fit for your family and lifestyle.

Are you the same person who was looking on the other lab board. I think 2 people gave you some club recommendations, and you would need to go through their breeder links. Finding the right breeder for your next companion usually takes a bit more work than someone just recommending "a breeder". Good luck in your search.
